Recently, the Ocean Partner Volunteer Team and the Youth League Branch of Fenghua District Bureau of Ecology and Environment jointly launched a public welfare volunteer activity themed “Ocean Partner Joins Hands to Safeguard the Blue, Constitution Safeguards Ecological Beauty”.

Relying on the immersive scenario of the Ocean Partner Environmental Protection Cabin, the activity focused on relevant clauses in the Constitution concerning ecological environment protection and rational utilization of natural resources. It carried out popularized legal publicity among coastal fishermen, enhancing citizens’ awareness of the Constitution and their concept of rule of law. A dual-dimensional platform integrating environmental protection practice and legal publicity was established, aiming to promote the formation of a social consensus of “learning and understanding the law, loving and protecting the ocean”, so as to support the construction of ecological civilization and a law-based society.
The activity kicked off with an in-depth yet easy-to-understand legal lecture on marine environmental protection. Legal volunteers explained relevant provisions of the Constitution to the villagers of Qifeng and elaborated on the close connection between individual behaviors and the ecosystem. The villagers at the scene listened with great interest, and many took out their mobile phones to shoot the courseware content.

Subsequently, volunteers and staff boarded ships together to carry out offshore floating garbage cleaning operations. The operation team sailed slowly along the coastline, scanning the sea surface with focused attention. Soon, they spotted their first batch of targets—plastic bottles, foam fragments and discarded fishing nets floating with the tides.
Some volunteers participated in the marine cleaning activity for the first time. They carefully fished out a plastic bag half-buried underwater with a long-handled net, saying, “We didn’t expect that plastic pollution in offshore areas would be so directly visible.” After a period of salvage work, the joint operation team cleared a large amount of marine debris, mainly plastic products and foam waste, with a small quantity of discarded fishing gear and household waste also found.

Such marine debris not only damages the marine landscape and affects the development of fishery and tourism, but more importantly, causes long-term harm to the marine ecosystem. The salvaged garbage will be delivered to the intelligent recycling cabinets of the Ocean Partner Environmental Protection Cabin, and the recyclable parts will enter the recycling and reuse system.
Marine protection is not a one-off activity, but a cause that requires continuous investment. Ocean Partner and Fenghua Bureau of Ecology and Environment have established a long-term cooperation mechanism to carry out similar activities on a regular basis.
